(Sunday) Rav Yehuda Leon Ashkenazi (1922-1996), known as “Manitou,” was a profound and original thinker and a spiritual leader of francophone Jewry in Israel, Europe, and North Africa. His thought, which draws from diverse sources such as the Kabbala and Rav Kook, focuses on understanding Jewish history and identity within the interplay of ideas in the world.
