Rav Yuval Cherlo
An alumnus of Har Etzion, and a retired major in the IDF, Rav Cherlo is one of the founders of Tzohar, which has pioneered building bridges in Israeli society, specifically between the religious and secular communities. A sought after speaker and prolific author who has written several books on the role of Judaism and Halacha in modern life, Rav Cherlo plays an array of public roles in the State of Israel, including serving on the Governmental Ethical Committees, and of the Presidential Press Council. Rav Cherlo’s eagerness to share the richness of his learning and experience in public life gives students of Yeshivat Amit the unique opportunity to experience first-hand the inner workings of Israeli society and the role of Torah and Jewish values in the modern state.
