Rav Reuven Taragin Shema Yisrael - The Goals of Mitzva Observance Parshat HaShavua - The Weekly Torah Reading
Rav Shimon Klein Parashat Ekev: “If You Will Diligently Obey” In this shiur, we will study the second paragraph of Shema, which appears in this week's parasha. What is the reason for loving God, from the perspective of this second unit? The answer is that love of God is a component in the nation’s assumption of responsibility for its existence in the land. We will analyze the theme of this paragraph and compare it to that of the first paragraph of Shema. Parshat HaShavua - The Weekly Torah Reading

Rav Tamir Granot You Shall Make For Yourself an Ark of Wood In this shiur we shall compare the command to fashion the second set of tablets, as described by Moshe, and the original narrative in Sefer Shemot. To my mind, the differences between the two versions are fundamental in nature, and point to the essence of each of the two accounts. We will see that the contradiction between the two descriptions of Moshe’s second ascent of the mountain to receive the tablets is an expression of two different theological approaches that are reflected in Sefer Shemot, on the one hand, and Sefer Devarim, on the other. Rav Yoel Bin-Nun The Expanded Shema Shema and Ve-haya im Shamoa, the first two passages of Keriat Shema, appear in Parashat Vaetchanan and Parashat Ekev respectively, sharing many thematic elements and details. They bookend the mitzvot of faith: loving, fearing and worshipping God while eschewing all connections to idolatry. As we shall see in the shiur, greater Keriat Shema, between Shema and Ve-haya im Shamoa, is the continuation of the first of the Ten Commandments. In order to understand what the First Commandment is, we will delve deeply into greater Keriat Shema. Parshat HaShavua - The Weekly Torah Reading
Prof. Yonatan Grossman Moshe’s Interpretation of the Sin of the Golden Calf In this shiur, we will attempt to understand Moshe's attitude toward the story of the sin of the Golden Calf. The sin of the Golden Calf is one of the most tragic episodes in the history of the Jewish People, and there is no way to ignore this foundational event. However, the timing of Moshe's decision to relate to this event is a significant manner in itself, as we shall see over the course of this shiur. Parshat HaShavua - The Weekly Torah Reading
